The biblical grounding considers Paul's speech at the Areopagus (Acts 17:16-34). Niebuhr's Christ and culture is the basis for cultural context. The church's history, Paul's ministry, and technological advancements such as language, architecture and cultural practices helped enable proclamation of the Gospel. Literature should be considered as a resource for preaching and observations are made about literature's use in preaching within two congregational settings -- a structured group versus casual interaction. Through the research the writer tried to suggest the methods to understand the conflict of the church members under the negative impact of the conflict in the church rightly and to show the biblical solution of the conflict. The author made the surveys of the people who finished the 4-week small group Bible studies and then compared the changes of the peiople before and after the Bible studies by analyzing the answers of the questionnaires. A review of literature on the ars moriendi tradition reveals common themes of hope, compassion, and patience. For the African American community, the Bible continues to be the source for understanding death. Among this community, acceptance of hospice services has been slow. The project was developed to help the African American community embrace hospice care. An end-of-life care workshop that partnered hospice caregivers and African American church leadership was developed. To this end, a variety of prayer styles were compared. Years of personal experience were drawn on to formulate a series of teaching sessions presented at a small local church. The author's research revealed the biblical basis for prayer as the cornerstone of Christian discipline. It was also shown historically how a style of approach to prayer can set the tone for a whole movement within the church. Examples from the historical Korean prayer movement were drawn on frequently. The author examined and practiced the various prayer styles with her church members and defined both vocal and meditative prayer as major categories, each containing many distinct practices.
