The participants experienced transformation of self through self reflection and deeper encounter with the Lord. Their feedback also suggested a possibility of using the program for small groups. The double paycheck couples' problems became barriers not only for the couples' relations but also for their child-rearing and faith journey. I endeavored to solve the couples' conflicts and problems by applying the concepts and techniques of the Imago Couples' therapy based on my survey of the biblical understanding and traditional Korean concept of couples' relation as companionship. In the course of the work on the seminar and delivery of it, the author spent time in Russia and in the United States consulting with pastors, academics and lay people who serve, or who work with the people of the United Methodist Church in the Eurasian Area. The author asked how to help in recovering intimacy among elderly couples through a sexuality-centered education program.  With nine couples aged sixty-five years or older, the seminar was conducted over three days of intensive retreat. All the participants' responses were very positive and productive. The author of this work was pastor of an urban church, the majority of whose members did not live in the community. The church's urban neighbors, local public housing residents, partnered with the church and other faith leaders to defend their rights as they were being pushed aside for the redevelopment of the city's public housing units. Responding to internal and external review data, this project participated in overall program changes to the Religion/Christian Ministries program at WPC. Focus was given to the sophomore level internship courses to create an observation level experience designed to engage the Northwest culture. The author researched models of contextual theology in preparation for student experiences. Ultimately the project led to a successful grant proposal to the M. J. These problems are not due to the world but to the fundamentals of the church. In this thesis the house church is proposed as an alternative. The researcher focuses on its fundamental vitality and complementary ecclesiology.
