The first goal of this project was to research the field of revival history in order to identify revival preparation practices to facilitate revival. The second project goal was to develop a curriculum to equip selected church leaders with revival preparation practices to facilitate revival. The third project goal was to equip selected church leaders with revival preparation practices to facilitate revival.The first professional goal of this project was to increase the project directors knowledge of revival history and practices. The project director's second professional goal was to increase his skill in curriculum design. The project director researched spiritual formation, various approaches to discipleship in the church, and church strategy planning to determine best practices to fit First Baptist Denison. The project director also performed an internal audit of the Church's current adult discipleship process to determine how the church must improve in providing a clear pat of spiritual development,The project director selected a team of church members, consisting of five core leaders who led triads within the fifteen-person group during the discipleship strategy planning process, which took place over five sessions, to develop a discipleship strategy that encompasses and directs all church programs and ministries. The project director developed a communication plan for the resulting discipleship strategy with the five core leaders, published as a one-page tracking sheet for members to direct and track their spiritual growth. The internal demographics of newcomers, attenders, and new members were explored in order to identify common characteristics. It investigated best practices in assimilation and developed an assimilation strategy which was approved by the deacons of the church.There had been no strategy in place at First Baptist Church, therefore, the church had no current expectation of assimilation. After years of decline and a recent period of initial revitalization, an assimilation strategy was needed to provide a clear pathway for newcomers, attenders, and new members of the church.
