Utilizing primarily qualitative methods including ethnographic research and interviews, I tested if spiritual reflections on beauty and awe would lead to a desire for more worship outdoors. Scripture, John Calvin and more modern Reformed thinkers provided the theological underpinnings. Scientific thinking was also drawn upon. It was found worship outdoors may both increase openness to beauty and awe, and increase mental wellbeing. The breadth of possibilities for outdoor worship were considered. Besides traditional outdoor worship this included walking pilgrim routes, labyrinths and the Forest Church movement."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/1d3cf5e1-30d5-4a94-b688-e7cf1f7365ea?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["1d3cf5e1-30d5-4a94-b688-e7cf1f7365ea"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["1d3cf5e1-30d5-4a94-b688-e7cf1f7365ea"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["amccafferty@pts.edu"],"_version_":1798970416985800704,"timestamp":"2024-05-13T20:24:42.654Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2024-05-13T02:15:16Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-13T20:08:20Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"92bb2e42-10a9-4a5b-9a9a-4979b69bea9e","accessControl_ssim":["33423fce-ddf0-43ee-bd1e-2d873f2316bd"],"depositor_ssim":["frmichael@sorial.net"],"depositor_tesim":["frmichael@sorial.net"],"title_tesim":["Sent to All Nations: Christian Missions and Orthodox Ecclesiology"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2024-05-13T02:15:15Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-13T20:08:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0fc89197-2ac1-4c61-8074-7ce1fa5f714f"],"hasLease_ssim":["8573ccce-7f9a-4f9c-8f76-b51a96497c3c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2024"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Through the centuries, however, the legend has been altered and reworked, often to suit the needs of those in power. The result is that women, once the heroes of the legend, have been reduced to negative roles and characterization inconsistent with earliest examples of the myth. This work seeks to reimagine the tale, and particularly the role of women within it, order to return to earlier Celtic versions and restore the agency, power, and importance of the women in the legend of King Arthur.
