A small Wesleyan congregation in Ontario was taken on a journey from tacit to intentional Trinitarianism by emphasizing the Trinity in sermons, sacraments, study, worship, and mission. Resources included Natural Church Development's Three Colors of Ministry and Color Your World, Trinitarian liturgical material, and a self-developed small group curriculum. As a result the congregation's ministries have not been aligned with any explicit overarching vision. Ministries were sometimes not sure how their particular activities aligned with the larger purposes of the church. A process was needed to bring the congregation's leadership together to start thinking strategically and plan the future ministries of the church around a shared vision. A strategic planning team led the process by conducting congregational surveys, meeting regularly to pray, studying survey results and writing new mission and vision statements. The outcomes of this project include new mission and vision statements, a willingness to align the ministries accordingly, and a more forward looking, visionary leadership. The process of developing a well articulated mission and vision statement allowed a number of other church issues to be addressed."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Tyndale University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["602e7e7c-0b8b-4e09-af87-84c66ff49c48"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133600814465025,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:21:52.349Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:17:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:21:10Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"63c592a3-365c-4103-b11f-11d7a3f66b87","accessControl_ssim":["62458c9f-083c-4543-81c8-9b81a930954d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing an organizational environment to enhance and multiply effective ministry at Wallenstein Bible Chapel, Ontario: lessons learned from a pond"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:17:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:03:02Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["842c3510-daf2-4e73-99f6-020efa35df73"],"hasLease_ssim":["0cb6ef2f-dfb6-46bb-a15e-018c85c7f121"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Tyndale University"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert Shaughnessy"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"location_tesim":["Ontario"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ronald A Seabrooke"],"keyword_tesim":["Clergy--Performance standards"],"publisher_tesim":["Tyndale Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Religion","Plymouth Brethren","Church growth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project involved creating and sustaining a healthy church organizational environment in a Plymouth Brethren church in Ontario.
