By eliminating the use of printed words that are either read silently or aloud, and replacing them with biblical storytelling and the use of digital media, the phenomenology of 'transmediatization' was explored as a means in which to deepen the meaning of the worship experience for members of St. Giles Anglican Church, and to consider its validity toward Anglican liturgical renewal in our present post-literate digital culture. The results show that when Anglican worship includes Scripture by Heart and the use of audiovisual technology, people experience worship as being more meaningful. The author researched what impact it would have for a small Anglican community to change its media culture from print, literate, to oral and digital."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129510957023232,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:16:51.957Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:34:28Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:50:10Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"932df2cd-56f6-4fbe-9efb-964481284083","accessControl_ssim":["eca31056-486e-4462-85b8-6cb521247455"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Christ's new humanity at work in the multi-ethnic church: a study of Anglican churches in the Georges' River region (GRR) of the Diocese of Sydney"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:34:25Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:26:29Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fbcecda4-a24e-49c3-b437-c3e2e386b7af"],"hasLease_ssim":["2bbbd44b-7315-4845-bc3d-f5c792cf30c1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"advisor_tesim":["Grant LeMarquand"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Walter Barton Vandenhengel"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"subject_tesim":["Race relations","Anglican Communion","Anglican Church of Australia. But at this very time of need for moral leadership, too many clergy simply mirror the uncertainty or abnegate altogether this responsibility. This thesis addresses the issue specifically in the Anglican context by proposing a model for the Anglican presbyter as moral leader of the local parish. The thesis begins with an overview of the theological and biblical grounds as to the vocation of pastoral leadership in relation to the mission of the church and more particularly what is meant by the moral dimension of such leadership. The wider Christian Tradition in general, as well as the Anglican tradition in particular, are then surveyed for insights into the tasks of moral leadership including the authoritative sources for ethical reflection and moral guidance. Anglican tradition is also studied to derive a sense of the ecclesiastical ethos in which Anglican presbyters must now exercise such leadership. This is followed by a more detailed examination of scripture in regard to what it tells us about moral leadership in general and the tasks, personal qualities, and methods entailed in faithful moral leadership. In light of this material together with current works on the subject, a normative model for moral leadership by Anglican presbyters in the local parish is set forth. With scripture as the primary authoritative source, a proposal is made as to the nature, goals, and guiding principles for such leadership. Six key elements of moral leadership ranging from understanding of the biblical vision of the moral life that is faithful to Christ and the social context in which leadership is exercised, to the moral virtues of a good leader, to personal moral accountability, to the various tasks of a pastoral moral leader, and to the moral significance of the liturgy are explored. Appendixes include a bibliography, a selection from key Anglican documents, a tabular overview, and an outline for educating clergy and lay leaders for church moral leadership."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132732561031168,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:08:04.318Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T05:40:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:34:55Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ce5df9de-91a7-4029-aa5e-7284257271e7","accessControl_ssim":["421aefe0-e4e8-4b5d-97ca-90f0f286a453"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["'Standing at the altar together . . . Since the case studies pose theological questions in the midst of every day situations, the intentions of the case study method is to bridge the gap between spiritual and secular thinking."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Hartford Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8e52e4c8-38b6-4846-872d-a744b4f5725d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125919524454400,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:19:46.900Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:10:53Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:19:45Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"fbf30714-f505-4960-95ff-146d379bce2a","accessControl_ssim":["869ab53d-8090-4612-98e7-b25aa4262821"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A bicentennial Australian book of common prayer, 1988: collects and lectionary"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:10:51Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:19:48Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ca91bc29-6ce3-4e15-a48b-dcf24df004a1"],"hasLease_ssim":["2d5a638b-c84e-496d-9bdd-433ba46674e6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["T E Pollard"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John Reynolds Bunyan"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church of England in Australia","Prayer books","Anglican Communion"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project is a revision of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer (BCP) for the 1988 Australian Bicentenary of the Collects and Communion Lectionary. A copy of this booklet will be in the appendix of the project report and the booklet should enable the reader to use the Book of Common Prayer for personal or family devotions without having attended the writer's classes.
