It sees funeral directing as a form of ministry which complements rather than competes with traditional ministry.  It suggests that a common theological dimension should inform both the pastor and the funeral director to permit a holistic response to the needs of the bereaved.  The project presents funeral directing case studies and uses a process theology model to relate problems to care giver responses. The assessment of ministry to the bereaved from the initial viewal of the deceased to the committal and final disposition and post-funeral care is a possibility for the professional funeral director.
