Through two-one hour long interactive workshops, clergy and lay addressed the problem that people no longer view the church as a place of hope, but rather hurt. Surveys were distributed preceding the initial workshop, and at the conclusion of the final workshop. The Korean Presbyterian Church of Westchester's (KPCOW) EM and KM can stay together when they view themselves as a covenantal community founded by Christ based on its baptismal identity rather than its ethnic one. The author evaluated the influence of a sermon series on the way KPCOW understands its identity by analyzing two questionnaires both quantitatively and qualitatively. Among the people, however, there is often the inability to see the Scriptures as one progressive, unfolding story, culminating with Jesus, and looking ahead to the new heavens and new earth. In Luke 24, Jesus makes clear that all the Old Testament testifies to him. There are hints throughout Scripture that point toward a Grand Story, rather than disconnected, individual stories. It presents the initial evidences and then discusses the relationship between the believer's sonship and Christ's sonship in order to relate it to the nature of the believer's sonship and salvation found in Hebrews. Then it examines the text of Hebrews for textual and conceptual evidences.
