From rhetorical, theological, and ontological perspectives, Auctor adopted Exod 3:14 in his thesis statement (Heb 1:1-4) to be the most significant ontological signpost in his hermeneutic. The crux is that the name of God (i.e., YHWH) is revealed. Ontologically speaking, 'God speaks' is neither an Old Testament historical phenomenon, nor a Christ-event, but rather it is 'YHWH speaks' who timelessly and unchangeably reveals the reality of his Being and Word. Using a quantitative approach, data was accumulated after twelve weeks of instruction and application of the Bible reading method with the goal of hearing God. Over the 8 weeks of the course students were exposed to biblical teachings on divorce and remarriage and how these teachings tend to be organized into biblical positions. While students were not compelled to embrace a particular position, they were encouraged to draw definite conclusions based upon teachings. The researcher designed and implemented an 8-week, 15-hour counseling program to help Christian couples develop greater intimacy through learning how to put off pride and pursue biblically-based, Christ-centered humility before God, in their view of self, and in relationship with one another. Guided Awareness focused on the preachers' spiritual reflection of their preaching rather than critiques or assessments. The hypothesis of the project is that preachers can transform their preaching for the common good of the Church by engaging in spiritual reflection. Research explored the call for preaching reflection. Preachers attended an introductory presentation, completed presentation surveys, participated in Guided Awareness experiences on their preaching, and completed a post-experience survey. The author used qualitative research through survey and individual interviews to identify internal and external barriers, which inhibit the discipleship of the BMBs and their growth in the Christian faith. He then recommended culturally relevant remedies.
