In order to determine why church members volunteer and how they feel about it, a questionnaire was developed and sent out, follow-up interviews conducted, and tentative conclusions reached.  Suggested guidelines and procedures were drawn up and tested.  The results of that testing are reported. By reviewing the literature, offering a critique of Lee's 'The Theology of Change' (a type of Asian theology which uses the same sources as does T'ai-Chi), interviewing T'ai-Chi masters, and providing a pictoral manual of the author doing T'ai-Chi (Y'ang style) as Asian theology, the thesis is realized. A theological understanding of life, death and ministry was developed from biblical and secular sources.  Divided into six sessions, the educational experience utilized group discussion, audio-visual presentations, simulations, and visitation. Templer's 'Death Anxiety Scale' and subjective self-reporting were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the educational experience.
