Their reading and discussion provided continuing education.  Their being together provided an opportunity for fellowship.  The project report outlines the minister's continuing education and fellowship needs as suggested from Scripture and ministry-related materials.  The format of the project is then explored and analyzed. Secondary components, alterable, also were reflected in forty-five statements designed, analyzing synergistic 'spirit'. Three churches' leaders responded to the statements on the Likert scale. Consensus was achieved by Delphi technique.  Goals for three months' improvement were set. A twenty-four hour Christian crisis counselor training program was developed for six target churches, emphasizing a biblical basis for crisis counseling and Adam's nouthetic counseling system. The study featured a historical sketch, recent controversy, CC-CC views, various opportunities in ministry found in the army chaplaincy.  A conclusion was followed by an appendix which surveyed 1,000 Protestant army chaplains reference their attitude toward the army chaplaincy.  The survey indicated that chaplains minister to families almost as much as their civilian counterparts. The methodology of this dissertation/project includes the formulation of a theology of the sabbath, based on the study and reflection on pertinent theological, biblical and historical studies of the sabbath and its life-impinging applications.  Further, special study is given to the contact that the sabbath makes with other kinds of reflection.  Finally, a series of lectures was developed, presented and evaluated. This study concentrates on six broad theological sabbath themes: holy time, creation, redemption/liberation, sovereignty, equality, and rest.  These themes present the grace of God in a life-impinging manner.
