Discussions of hopes, fears, problems and reservations were analyzed and compared with Vatican II and post-conciliar theologies of the diaconate, presbyterate and church order. The resulting theology involves the complementarity of roles of laity, diaconate, presbyterate and episcopacy in pursuing the mission of the church. Priests will only accept the diaconate when they understand why it was restored. Understanding--and definition--can be achieved through massive catechesis. This project offers one approach to such catechesis in which deacons would furnish important elements."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130711906844672,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:35:57.272Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:11:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:09:48Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"46d7d520-1caf-447f-8991-06c1c19d24a4","accessControl_ssim":["b9b43792-e771-4314-84ae-370eee29543d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A program for teaching prayer to junior high students"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:11:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:12:09Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["67ab19a4-6250-4212-b355-df1bb54e18ae"],"hasLease_ssim":["6a1539e5-02d0-4171-a53f-920fdacef8f8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Catholic University of America"],"advisor_tesim":["John T Ford"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John Beaman Hesch"],"keyword_tesim":["Christian education of youth"],"publisher_tesim":["Catholic University of America Department of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Link, Mark","Erikson, Erik H. A theoretical basis derived from Erickson's theory of ego development and the spiritual theologies of Nouwen and Macquarrie were used to critique and design a program for junior high students. Breakaway, a program of prayer and meditation (by Mark Link) was adapted and implemented with a group of sixty-one junior highs over a period of twenty-eight weeks. The program was evaluated by questionnaires and interviews with students and professional educators. Although the students did not increase their frequency of prayer, their understanding was broadened, they were using a greater variety of prayer forms, and showed a willingness to pray with other people. Further modifications of the program should use a greater variety of prayer forms, aids to prayer, environments for prayer, and voluntary participation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125295280947200,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:09:51.574Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:11:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:39:44Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"fb6e5f03-87df-4a3d-8c45-3db8dec8f504","accessControl_ssim":["8e064cb9-cf07-448a-a777-45b79ad004bf"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The effects of facilitation on the dynamics of small group living"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:11:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:18:57Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["880240fe-0706-4bc7-bbc1-5d6502767bac"],"hasLease_ssim":["48915c6b-f2cd-465a-bbbe-4174c038ff56"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David A Steere"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Pauline La Mothe"],"publisher_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Communal living","Women and religion","Social groups","Communication","Group facilitation"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project will explore the effects of facilitation on a small group of women religious. The Episcopal Church has encouraged its members to pray, but usually has not done much to teach and show them 'how' to do this. Using this uniquely Anglican book as a guide and starting point, the writer will prepare a booklet to explain the use of the Book of Common Prayer in the home setting, and will teach a series of classes enabling the class to be familiar with the nonsacramental portions of the Book of Common Prayer. A copy of this booklet will be in the appendix of the project report and the booklet should enable the reader to use the Book of Common Prayer for personal or family devotions without having attended the writer's classes. This project should enable the people of St Paul's Episcopal Church to be a praying church at their altar on Sunday and in their homes during the week."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130556050702336,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:33:28.636Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:11:10Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:32:37Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"3f318233-2507-4ef5-9894-1e48d5ae7bc0","accessControl_ssim":["e532379b-d219-4b92-a2ad-0b4c4b204404"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["'Thou shall have no other gods before me': a Jungian approach to understanding the first commandment"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:11:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:57:37Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b11323f4-4688-4a6f-9266-fae6ca518107"],"hasLease_ssim":["2946c537-3cce-41d7-ba1d-89b9b0a828e7"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David A Steere"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William Edgar Kopp"],"publisher_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Progoff, Ira","Centerpoint Foundation","Polytheism","Diaries","Jung, C. The hypothesis and accompanying corollaries were studied using an already existing Jungian study curriculum produced by the Centerpoint Foundation, called Centerpoint I. The curriculum was enhanced by the addition of Ira Progoff's journaling methodology, the personal journals of the participants being the major evaluative data sources for the research itself. The data was generally in support of the hypothesis and its corollaries, namely, that our polytheistic tendencies are rooted in the human psyche and that heightened personal consciousness equates with a movement from polytheism toward monotheism."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7d2ba5b6-aeec-459a-aaec-e1eed75d32f0"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134279792590848,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:32:39.873Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:11:10Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:33:41Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"613c7fe3-cfa5-4e75-8292-d23c3929a03c","accessControl_ssim":["716459b9-a771-46ff-915b-38edd6dc471a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Adult education for mission"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:11:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:58:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2e1b4b99-5e0f-454e-8b81-3edc7a353268"],"hasLease_ssim":["23b5977a-0500-4cb3-ac01-f07f3fa9b207"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Craig R Dykstra"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Gerald William Bauer"],"publisher_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Christian education of adults","Gifts, Spiritual","Missions--Theory"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project describes an adult education course designed to motivate Christians for mission. Theological treatment of God's people sent forth into mission and gifts for ministry combine with a theoretical consideration of the nature of adult education, the leader's role, and the components in this educational curriculum. The two emerge in an educational process that emphasizes the discovery of individual gifts for ministry. The learnings chapter examines the project suggesting a theological approach that begins with and emphasizes mission. Gifts become resources for ministry, discovered as a person becomes engaged in mission.
