A handbook entitled the Beginner's guide to spiritual direction relationships (SDR) is included which workshop participants read along with attending eight sessions to discuss the handbook and other topics related to SDR. In addition, the issue of what biblical material is not included in the lectionary becomes important. The most important conclusion reached in this study is that the major determinant in sermonic satisfaction was not an issue of form. It seeks to identify the form and content of preaching which are most effective for each generation and the nature of preaching which transcends generational differences. The principle that generational cohorts have a personality is the foundation for differentiating between generations and identifying a preaching style for each generation. The thesis project shows that the generational model can be used to form sermons that address particular generations as well as build understanding between the generations. It offers suggestions for the development of cross-generational preaching."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128200875606016,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:56:02.566Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:30:56Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:15:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d7a42a28-85dd-42fe-ab30-608fadeeb06e","accessControl_ssim":["27c519e9-101d-42ba-9f6e-dfeb4198ead0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Addressing the cultural issue of gambling through a teaching and preaching ministry: First Baptist Church, Dresden, Tennessee"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:30:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:17:59Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0fac9d65-6c26-42d3-9059-1863e0fd2a41"],"hasLease_ssim":["d7a4b818-e48d-4466-8913-2d1fa71f46bb"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Harry L Poe"],"year_tesim":["1998"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Donald W McCulley"],"publisher_tesim":["Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Gambling--Religious aspects--Christianity","First Baptist Church (Dresden, Tenn)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project was to lead the First Baptist Church of Dresden, Tennessee to take a proactive stance against any form of legalized gambling in Tennessee.
