This Pentecostal church is primarily composed of immigrants mostly from Africa and the Caribbean Islands. After struggling to establish a small group ministry, the congregation and leaddership were consulted through conversations, interviews and surveys resulting in a more flexible, focused, and situation-sensitive model. The purpose of this small group ministry is to build a community of disciples nurtured by Bible study and prayer, connected with the church through their leaders, who minister to the needs of those within and beyond the group. A variety of methods (combining both qualitative and quantitative) with an emphasis on the ethnographic methodology eliciting emic views have been used to gather descriptive data. In addition, historical archival research was conducted to examine the Chinese and Christianity and the Chinese diaspora in general. Emerging cultural themes enabled the analysis of opportunities and threats to reach the Chinese diaspora in Africa. Originally intended for use by teachers and parents of young children, the curriculum of Conscious Discipline [registered symbol] teaches the skills and powers necessary for social-emotional excellence. With so many insisting that one cannot be gay and Christian, we construct a dividing line between what happens on a Saturday night and who we are in a Church on Sunday morning. I do not believe that this is an issue with which only LGBTQ persons struggle. I believe that most Christians struggle to reconcile the messiness of everyday life and their self-representation in Church. Much of this compartmentalization centers around the tension between what is sacred and what is secular. The key concept was a good beginning - how a new pastor might make an intentionally good beginning.  In order to define a good beginning the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions were examined, and LCMS district presidents were interviewed. They gave their definitions and suggested names of pastors who had started well.  Those pastors were then interviewed to add their insights. The existing resources were also examined. Some people who receive healing for emotional hurts through inner healing prayer relapse into past wounding behaviors. The effort relapse is first on the one who relapses. The second effect is on the healing community, especially the people in healing ministry who pray with them. Emphasis is given to imagination, subversion of stereo-type, immigration and the discipline of hospitality. 50 Evangelical Christians from Otter Creek Church participated in a 4 month dialog on the responsibility of Christians toward Muslims in the US. This resulted in moderate to significant changes in perceptions, attitudes and stereo-types. A policy capturing study was conducted engaging thirteen congregations of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Six congregations had planted independent congregations.  Six congregations had planted multi-site venues. One congregation had used both models of church planting. The primary component for information gathering was a survey seeking information on how each church decided which model to follow.
