The researcher found that a successful leadership succession depends upon a well-planned transition. The research consisted of a case study of four small independent churches. Through grounded theory and coding of the data, the researcher identified factors that contribute to both the positives and obstacles of a good leadership succession. Some members who joined the church became part of a continuously revolving door, walking almost directly out the back door before their probationary period ended. Reasons given for their departures were no demonstration of love, service of unity within the congregation. Some members wavered in their spiritual growth as a by-product of lack of prayer and weakened commitment to their relationship with God. The intent of this project is to improve the spiritual health of the church by employing intentional discipline practices: prayer, devotion, meditation, worship. The research focuses on the spiritual transformation of the members based on past commitments to the ministry, devotion to God, present accountability towards the means of grace and personal relationship with God. in organizational management in missions engagement. The development of an exit strategy in missions partnership serves as the backdrop from which this investigation evolved. The literature on empowerment, the historical review of Converge Worldwide's sixty years of engagement in the Philippines, and the literature on missions exit strategies were critically read and analyzed in this study. In addition, the researcher conducted surveys and interviews to assess the current realities, challenges, and trends in doing missions in the Philippines. These were all done to find clues on how the empowerment theory and praxis might guide the leaders of Converge Worldwide and the Baptist Conference of the Philippines, as they move forward in strengthening and expanding their movement in the Philippines and in the Southeast Asian region."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Bethel Seminary (St. Paul, MN)"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fccbc3d7-874c-42e3-8a20-621b107c56c7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132687273033728,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:07:21.128Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:07:59Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:33:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7118db43-d4dc-4caa-9c49-50e41cd157f9","accessControl_ssim":["a95ee5b8-3a8d-4db3-ae22-33006254d38e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Keepers of the street: the prayer walk ministry of Franklin Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:07:58Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:26:49Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["10931387-0b5f-4139-8fff-d95057636841"],"hasLease_ssim":["fc0e3b5e-45e2-4f1d-860b-5d6e9260ad7f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Hood Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["André Resner"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Paul G Murphy"],"publisher_tesim":["Hood Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["City missions","African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church--Missions","Home missions","Franklin Chapel (Laurinburg, NC)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project is to prepare and empower the members of Franklin Chapel to assume a posture of intentional prayer out in the streets of Laurinburg so to 'loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free and to break every yoke' (Isaiah 58:6b-e). It will be our goal to maintain a prayerful presence in the streets of the Washington park community from the time of this project's activation until the coming of our Lord. The prayer-walkers will pray for people, homes, hospitals, businesses, schools and all manner of social and spiritual conditions and needs as the Holy Spirit leads us through the streets of the community. Our focus area will be limited to a three-mile radius of Franklin Chapel: namely, the Washington park Community. The Sons of Varick (an all-male contingency of the Christian education department) and the Young Adult Missionary Society (an all-female department of the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society) will host six congregational reflective discussions ranging from evangelism to prayer-walk ministry (PWM). These sessions will be quite informative and challenging and will allot times for questions, observations and suggestions."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126781059661824,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:33:28.524Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13083,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"Dissertation","hits":46,"label":"Dissertation"},{"value":"Thesis","hits":9,"label":"Thesis"},{"value":"D.Min.
