For most congregations to thrive, transformation is required. Breathing life into a congregation results not from the latest program, product or scheme, but attentive listening to God's Spirit in the preaching moment. Transformation begins as God's Word touches hearts and minds. One approach bearing great promise is Celebrative Preaching, described by Rev. Dr. Frank A. Thomas. Narrative Celebrative Preaching helps congregations live from memory to hope on their journey of transformation. NCP embraces and brings to light members' stories within the community through communal interviews recorded on a Whiteboard. Corporate recording of common stories and significant events reshapes a congregation's history. NCP encourages growth based upon remembrance of God's grace and activity for more awareness of God's presence and activity in their present."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127906087337984,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:51:21.433Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:17:07Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:19:46Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5167f426-2168-414a-b568-bd25547b648b","accessControl_ssim":["21cee1dc-842d-4bde-a868-3e9db13e2b01"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["That all might hear: preaching celebration in a multiethnic Lutheran church-Missouri Synod congregation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:17:06Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:31:07Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ef2112d5-af0b-4665-b71c-cc30feafc7ea"],"hasLease_ssim":["402dcc25-69fe-4ead-9d24-cae183784b44"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"advisor_tesim":["Craig A Satterlee"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Thomas R Johnson"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"subject_tesim":["Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod","Race relations","Preaching","Lutheran preaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this paper is to encourage the preacher who is interested in preaching the good news to a multi-ethnic community more effectively. Based on the CSHQ, all cases reported showed qualitative and quantitative evidence for their reported success."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130190907179008,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:27:40.408Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:16:37Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:20:42Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ff5465db-34e9-4c42-b3db-390ed4c4c939","accessControl_ssim":["51a9292f-9bdd-48cf-b1b3-b2a623c2b442"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing an understanding of Biblical parenting among Christian couples at Huntington Baptist Church, Huntington, Indiana"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:16:31Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:25:54Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ab78266a-df99-4a8a-ba30-d8f9bfb1c01c"],"hasLease_ssim":["475e3985-2657-4615-957f-689a6b773690"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Stuart W Scott"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Amos R Albright"],"publisher_tesim":["Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church work with families","Huntington Baptist Church (Huntington, Ind)","Parent and child--Religious aspects--Christianity","Families--Biblical teaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project examines the current understanding of biblical parenting among Christian couples at Huntington Baptist Church. One solution has been to prescribe the spiritual practice of Sabbath-keeping. Unfortunately, this raises multiple issues for the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) pastor. Therefore, the central question that guided this project was: How do SDA pastors practice and experience the Sabbath? The goal was to gain a thick, in-depth description of Sabbath-keeping. In order to accomplish this the project's strategy was rooted in a phenomenological form of research, namely the qualitative interview. For the SDA pastor's interviewed, the Sabbath was experienced as a paradox: stressful but restful, draining yet energizing."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7d2ba5b6-aeec-459a-aaec-e1eed75d32f0"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134434304458752,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:35:07.227Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13083,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"Dissertation","hits":46,"label":"Dissertation"},{"value":"Thesis","hits":9,"label":"Thesis"},{"value":"D.Min.
