This project gives churches a process whereby this can be successfully done.  A group of members from an area church was taught to utilize this plan within the context of their geographical church field of ministry.  They carried out the project that had children as its focus. Five leaders were selected and equipped in cognitive ability, skills and affect for six months.  This equipping process included six training sessions, implementing the core elements of small group ministry: effective leadership, good community environment, balanced small group activities into the small groups and individual monthly mentoring.  All the leaders demonstrated spiritual growth and improved their understanding of the concepts and practical skills of doing small group ministry. The project began because there seemed to be no real ministry being conducted in regard to the families of the incarcerated.  Through the utilization of surveys, interaction with various governmental agencies, and direct initiative to the targeted people group, it became evident that there were substantial difficulties that had to be overcome by the church, the employees of the Colorado Department of Corrections, and the families of the incarcerated for true ministry to occur. The project reviewed worldview, contextualization and biblical elements relating to making Irish disciples. The literature search conducted followed the development of Celtic spirituality along with two counter themes or antithetical elements, Christianity and the English in Ireland. Fifty-two questionnaires and three interviews of Irish were evaluated with the literature research to formulate and understanding of present day Celtic spirituality in western central Ireland. Drawing on the history of early Salvation Army preaching into critical conversation with the felt realities of postmodernity, this thesis argues for a recovery of biblical preaching that seeks to name what is at stake for the listener. Since these church plants were virtually identical in terms of time and style of service, the need arose to develop something antiparadigmatic. With a rationale in place for a hybrid church to meet on an alternate night, next came the planning and research phase, culminating in the launch of 'The Journey.' One year later 'The Journey' came to an abrupt end. What went wrong? This project aimed at encouraging Scripture reading in the Sunday worship service of C\u0026MA churches. It involved fifteen C\u0026MA pastors who used a three-month segment of a four-year Bible reading schedule, developed for this project. Each Sunday they read the assigned reading and material given to them to help them prepare for and introduce the reading. They then filled out a questionnaire, which attempted to evaluate their reactions and ideas concerning the three-month implementation period. They also filled out a short questionnaire three months after they completed the implementation period. This questionnaire sought to identify if they were still reading Scripture regularly in worship and why they were or were not continuing in this biblical practice.
