This dissertation project argues that there are attitudes and perspectives about church leadership that if they are in place and being lived out will make a leadership transition in a local church as seamless as possible. How will the Church respond? One way is to create multiracial churches by merging monoracial congregations. Merits include encountering God via different perspectives, and experiencing God's heart for the world through intercultural relationships. Challenges such as the tendency to associate with those like oneself, racial differences, and conflict resolution occur. To test this idea of community, we conducted leadership training to handle every member should they decide to join one. Seven new leaders and apprentices along with a host family carried the load of creating our desired result of connecting our church membership into small groups. The project developed a handbook from which lessons were taught, set forth a normative framework to guide the worship planners, and evaluated the outcome of a month's worth of worship services in order to identify areas where a Christian worldview perspective could be more fully integrated into the corporate worship setting. The research design involved literature reviews, evaluation and feedback from participants in the study, and survey research and evaluations of Sunday morning worship services. A Biblical and sociological foundation for planting churches was established, followed by an examination of supportive existing literature. Recent demographics, supplemented with interviews of ministry and civic leaders, provided sociological support. The resulting strategy for planting churches in Wyoming included methods to provide spiritual empowerment, community evaluation, leader evaluation, leader equipping, leader empowerment, and parent partnerships. Utilizing a qualitative research design twelve missionaries were interviewed from different demographic groups. Security concerns, desire for a close relationship, and identity issues are discussed as main sources of stress for single missionaries. The findings indicate that pastoral care in the form of short-term visiting ministry is urgently needed, since they usually have no partner with whom to discuss their stressors and thus dangerously ignore their stressors due to their training and endurance. The CBR has two readings per week for a three year cycle. The first weekly reading follows the biblical narrative from Genesis to Revelation covering the main characters and themes in the Bible story. There is a year each for the Pentateuch, the Monarchy/Exile and the Gospels/Acts. The second readings are from the epistolary, prophetic, poetic or didactic material. The readings are introduced and connected with framing statements.
