It was anticipated that completing the discipleship programs researched would strengthen participants' spiritual health in each of the six areas measured. It was discovered that the only area in which the programs studied strengthened maturing participants' spiritual health was that of 'Committed to the Lost.' Other significant discoveries were made concerning the affect of gender, church size and age on spiritual health. Significant contributors to spiritual health were also discovered. The project included research of the spiritual discipline of prayer and contemporary spiritual formation methodologies.  This research led to the design, administration, and evaluation of training sessions with the selected leaders.  Training included seven weekly didactic sessions on various dimensions of individual and corporate prayer, with additional assignments between sessions.  Participants assessed assigned readings  and maintained a journal throughout the process with assigned entries germane to the subject matter.  An eighth and final session assessed the participants' mastery of the subject matter and summarized the project material. The intent of this process was to equip the participants to lead the embryonic congregation in the arena of prayer, fostering a culture in which prayer is understood, valued, and practiced. It evaluates biblical and historical foundations, and then explores current Southern Baptist leadership practices. The list resulting from this research became the basis for developing a strategy for making disciples for First Baptist Church, Wauchula.  Upon completion, the strategy was approved by church staff and the strategy-development team. Using the Whitehead method, the author studies the experience of Episcopalians and the tradition of the Catholic Church, bringing these elements into conversation with aspects of democratic and clerical cultures. Familt Systems Theory is an avenue whereby the power of Jesus can be experienced. Conflict itself is only a part of the picture; equally important is the management of conflict. This project collects information from the field through district presidents within the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod (LCMS) along with consultants who assist congregations and church organizations that find themselves in conflict. Combining God's Word with an outside source for help provides a church with a resource to help reconcile relationships and resolve conflicts that may not be resolvable using internal procedures. The pilot demonstrated that a format of a preaching retreat day, formation period, and preaching retreat day was able to perpetuate participation but not facilitation.
