The church, with over four hundred attendees, is blessed with equal proportions of first and second generation Filipinos with about two hundred in each population. The study used a survey to gather information on their ethnic identity, their experience at church, their evaluation of church ministry, as well as their aspirations for the future. This investigation was done by interviewing Christian converts who faced pressure for reconverting to Hinduism, but remained consistent in their Christian faith, as well as reconverts that reconverted to Hinduism from the Christian identity as they faced pressure. The conclusion is that re-conversion events in South Gujarat have not affected church growth. Using exegesis of Peter's first letter, written to persons he describes as 'aliens' and 'strangers,' and using interviews and questionnaires, the study seeks to develop a perspective for preachers who will minister to 'diasporic Caribbean Christians.' Centuries of interpretation and development of various core beliefs about what makes a good sermon by both preachers and hearers, has led to what Andre Resner calls a virtual stalemate between the message and hearer-driven sermon. Using Leonora Tisdale's methodology of congregational exegesis to break through the stalemate, we have a test for the relevancy of preaching. Eric Reed, Ronald J. Allen, and Mark Allan Powell's study of multiple congregations reveal a wider range of information for comparison of how listeners experience preaching. Three results were clear. First, there is a conflict between the message and hearer-driven sermon on the local level that may be resolved by a more balanced approach we may call the ecclesial-driven sermon. The ecclesial-driven sermon may be traced back to Augustine's On Christian doctrine considered the first instructional book on homiletics for Christian ministry. Second, Tisdale's congregational exegesis approach helped define the ecclesial context of the subject church. The information gathered from those listening to sermons in this ecclesial context show a perceived improvement in the exegetical-interpretive skills of the pastor, the listening skills of the congregation, and in some cases both. A case study was made of ten New Zealand Open Brethren churches that were experiencing healthy numerical growth. Its aim is to help Jordanian Christian couples who have marital conflicts, because of the intervention of the husband's family of origin (especially his mother), to reach a better marital life. In Jordanian culture, parents demand their son's obedience and expect that their daughterinlaw will serve them. These two issues create conflicts among marital couples and affect their marital life negatively. Throughout therapy couples can change their negative beliefs into positive ones and understand the biblical truth concerning their marriages without hurting cultural truth.
