Once they became personal evangelists, they would lead their classes to be more involved in evangelism. The author researched the importance of the pastor's role in personal evangelism.  He discovered evangelism was more effectively learned experientially.  He researched two basic fears in evangelism: incompetence and rejection.  He studied basic apologetics and researched how to overcome distractions in evangelism.  The conclusion was the teachers were more equipped as a result of the project than before it. The project's scope was to lead parishioners in a survey of the AME Church's doctrines, discipline, and membership responsibility. Participants were engaged through a series of eight seminars, four sermons, and a retreat. They averaged fifty-minutes in eight seminars, twenty-five minutes listening to four sermons, and forty-five minute sessions in the one half-day retreat. Evaluation instruments were administered for assessing the project director's effectiveness, participants' retention, and value of the material. Chapter 3 examines cognitive and spiritual development of children. Personality types are examined as they relate to spiritual sensitivity to provide an overview of intentional evangelism. Chapter 4 covers what happened during the fifteen-week project. This chapter focuses on giving the facts of what happened and who was involved. Chapter 5 is the evaluation of the project. This chapter shares the goals that were met and those that were not. The author gives his personal theological reflection. The hermeneutical approaches of Bryan Chapell, Sidney Greidanus, and Graeme Goldsworthy were reviewed and evaluated. A synthesized hermeneutic was developed in which the author sought to capitalize on the strengths and minimize the weaknesses of the three approaches.
