Participants described the content, mode and personnel involved in their training, and gave suggestions for improvements, most rating it adequate for what they encountered, and indicating increased interest in long-term service. The project was conducted in March of 2007. The parents were provided syllabi and participated in three teaching sessions, enjoyed a catered lunch, and concluded the workshop with an extended time for questions and answers. Follow-up support groups met for the three consecutive Sunday evenings.  The seminar addressed cognitive, skill-development, and affective issues centered on the issues of childrearing. Jesus' model of servant leadership is perfect and relevant for every congregation and its various organizations. This model of leadership ensures growth and health in the life of the church. Leadership is the key to the internal life of the congregation, as well as to its relationship with the outer world and fruitfulness in that world. The author designed a leadership training course consisting of eight sessions, in which the participants studied leadership models from the Old Testament and the New Testament. The eight lessons were biblically based, but they were also enhanced by leadership and congregational studies from such professional scholars as Edwin H Friedman, Peter L Steinke, and Diana Butler Bass. Each of the sessions included lecture, discussion, evaluation, and personal and group assessments. The project's methodology includes three goals: (1) to gain insight through a sampling survey; (2) to generate a set of aims for balancing content and application; (3) to preach twelve messages from Ephesians that model a balanced approach and to have six of those messages evaluated by church members. In this study the author seeks to demonstrate that while there is freedom to create response times at the conclusion of a message, there are guidelines which need to be considered. The hypothesis was that if the students learn how to listen with care to the felt needs of the young women, they will develop deeper helping relationships. Relationships that emerge from genuine care and understanding are foundational and will enable the girls to feel understood and cared for. Learning occurred at different levels. Basic and necessary listening and caring skills were taught and well received. The project leader's conviction of the importance of teaching and practicing the skills was affirmed. Since hip-hop culture with its music core values are consistent with postmodern generational values, it was deemed useful as a model to identify some key principles and methods for outreach ministry. This project began with one month of leadership training workshops to prepare the church for this ministry. Following this were two months of bi-weekly hip-hop worship services and hip-hop outing to various hip-hop events. It begins with an empirical analysis of moral issue articles within two Seventh-day Adventist journals, Ministry Magazine and Message Magazine, over the period from fall 2001 through December 2005.  Next, a conceptual analysis is undertaken of the theological model that informs moral judgments within these journals.  The conclusions of the analysis are that the model of moral theology is legalistic in its commitment to an inflexible and literalistic biblicism.  In addition to critiquing the model for moral theology within these journals, the model of moral theology offered by Immanuel Kant is reviewed and found to be inadequate for providing a viable alternative. This is because it too is legalistic in its commitment to an inflexible rationalism.  What is offered as a viable alternative for a robust Adventist moral theology is one that takes seriously the Adventist heritage by organically binding moral imperatives to prima facie biblical principles that emerge from major biblical motifs.  Moreover, this model incorporates the Adventist prophetic witness to oppressive contexts.
