Five small group experiences were researched over a two-month period: guided imagery, lectio divina, covenant discipleship, praying the office, and a service group. Dr. Newton Malony's 'Religious Status Inventory' was used to measure the participants' faith maturity levels before and after their group participation. We worked among Catholics and native religious people in three rural towns of the State of Mexico, Mexico. I assume that every person is in some point walking to or from God in a process of knowing God in spite of his or her religious journey. Resistant people are found far from understanding God's plan for their salvation. Receptive people are found close to this point. This project tries to speed up people's movement toward God through holistic love actions. This ministry breaks down resistance and makes people understand God's love for them in tangible ways. The method of study starts from a critical analysis of the Bible, tradition, and the history of medical missions in church history and in Mexico. The study's conclusions came from the instruments used to analyze the communities according to their specific needs, religious background, and their readiness for evangelization. Pre-skill evaluations were administered to these instructors to determine their knowledge of teaching strategies and their teaching skills.  Based on this data, the workshop was designed to increase their competence as instructors.  Approximately four weeks after the workshop the project director visited the instructors to observe them teaching their CLD classes.  All of the project participants were evaluated to determine their knowledge, values and skills relative to training adults. Data was gathered using semi-structured interviews conducted with interns and supervisors.  Interviews were reviewed for common themes and any correspondence between data gathered and classic homiletic training and New Testament preaching. The role of the author was to facilitate the teams' development, providing training, assistance, and encouragement to the team building process. An informal demographic questionnaire was completed by each deacon. The level of understanding was determined using a Likert scale questionnaire and a conflict inventory instrument in the pre/post study interview. The results indicated that overall the project may have enabled the deacons to better understand their role in conflict resolution. The New Age religious emphasis upon channeling will be contrasted with the Christian worldview and a method of pastoral ministry consistent with the polity of a Baptist church.  The purpose is to make a Southern Baptist congregation aware of the challenge of New Age channeling and to teach the congregation, through a selected study group, how to respond to the challenges of New Age theologies and why the response is necessary.  First, the project will focus on familiarizing the participant group from the Calvary Baptist Church of Inola, Oklahoma, with the claims of channeling.  Second, the project will endeavor to develop a faithful biblical hermeneutic so that the study group can respond to these claims. Ultimately, the combined purpose is not only to understand, but also to be able to answer the treat presented by channeling to the Christian church.
