Seven different categories are examined from a theological perspective to review the appropriateness of the Crusade.  The ability involves the mobilizing of churches in a Crusade context for this year-long project.  A computer-assisted analysis of an evaluation completed by a select core-group was used to examine this project. An initial chapter examines the historical and cultural context of Boston and New England.  The invitation process and the complex organization of the crusade is detailed.  The effect of the crusade is measured by close analysis of questionnaires returned from ministers and lay leaders of churches who participated.  Returned questionnaires from inquirers reveal the motivations for attending and responding to the evangelist's invitation. It is a collection of interviews and articles which document the current movement of community wide unity among the evangelical churches in the city of Modesto, California.  The study begins with the Billy Graham Crusade in 1948 and includes over fourteen separate events or ministries through 1998.  Those studied are both responses to the hand of God as well as proactive movements by community leaders to work together.  The work concludes with three basic concepts which the author believes are transferrable to other communities who are interested in generating a similar community wide church unity.
