It was the author's hypothesis that they did not. A qualitative research project was conducted, which included a literature review and interviews with twelve EPC pastors all of whom had at least ten years of ministry experience. This study confirmed the author's initial belief that preaching through Revelation is being neglected by EPC pastors. factor's such as absence of significant seminary training in Revelation, a perceived lack of practical application for today's listener and a deficiency of pastor's personal study in the book were all contributing factors. God does not speak only through Scripture. The ancient prayer form, Lectio Divina, is a structure within which pastors can learn to practice listening prayer. The project offers principles of discernment to protect pastors from error and deception in listening prayer. The practicum/project takes seriously the historical documentation of the relevance of dreams.  The method of Jungian dream analysis was used with the small groups. This method of analysis allowed the participants to develop a process to understand their dreams and to relate the dream to their spirituality.  The practicum was conducted over a six-week period of time.  Forty-one participants were enrolled in three dream analysis classes.  The participants were from a United Methodist Church and a retirement center in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Each group met with the pastor weekly for a 1-hour dream analysis session. These 3 groups were separated into distinct age-groups: ages 20-45, 46-69, 70-90.  A dream notebook was kept by each participant. This practicum/project has established the importance of understanding dreams as a revelatory event. The author employs the principle of dialogue in communication to substantiate this conclusion.  He supplements the use of this principle with a theology of revelation and with the word of God.  Paramount to this principle of dialogue is self-disclosure, which is made possible through the mutual sharing of meanings from the life experiences of both the proclaimer and the hearer.
