A renewed Christian humanism, which effectively responds to the criticisms of VC by providing an ethical theory of neighbor-centered love, is presented as the necessary linkeage for dealing with VC as a theological enterprise. Incorporation of insights from process metaphysics, moral/faith development studies and a continuing concern for Christian norms are discussed as appropriate and essential components in a values-centered theology.
