Liberia Annual Conference","Women seminarians","Women","Seminarians--Recruitment"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The researcher studied 'How can the course 'Women in Ministry' (to be taught at Gbarnga School of Theology) might help increase women's enrollment in seminary and empower them for leadership in the Liberia Annual Conference, United Methodist Church'? She used qualitative triangulation data to develop and test the course 'Women in Ministry'. Although women represented over 50% of the church's membership, findings revealed cultural/traditional socialization and lack of finances impeded their advancement. The pilot stimulated awareness, transformed participants' perceptions and aptitude. Yet, women's education in spiritual and biblical matters ought to be taught in the church to equip them for the Great Commission mandate. This thesis-project explores the effectiveness of an existing spiritual education curriculum in the form of a mentoring program for college women. The evaluator uses the positions of women's epistemological development proposed by Belenky and her colleagues as a basis for evaluation. The author also discusses various women of the Bible as they relate to the mentoring program and one's understanding of how the program ought to be restructured. If a church-based women's Bible study program aims to grow strategically, numerically and in biblical depth, it must consider the best way to solve this problem. This thesis-project argues that the alternative to training successful lecturers is to turn to video lecturers who cannot as effectively shepherd the flock, be as accessible as role-models of Christ-like character nor be available to answer questions, both of a biblical and personal nature.
