The construction process presented natural opportunities to encourage change while the parishioners concretely considered their comprehensive needs. A newly formed committee met monthly to reflect upon congregational renewal in five areas: worship, youth ministry, guest friendliness, outreach, and community relations. They also planned worship programming to transition from the former to the new church facility. Interviews, surveys, and the planned church services revealed that renewal had been initiated in the five areas. These areas were enhanced by workshops, programs, restructuring, and awareness seminars. The implementation phase of the project lasted six months. It is rooted in temperament.  People listen depending upon whether or not the preacher is proclaiming the Word in a way that has integrity to their way of thinking.  Using the Meyers-Briggs understanding of temperaments, preachers are challenged to take seriously the different ways people have of hearing sermons.  Data from one Lutheran congregation, practical suggestions and a sermon for people of all temperaments are included. An eight-week sermon series was followed by a Sermon Response Questionnaires measuring communication effectiveness according to five levels  (contact, comprehension, acceptance, internalization, and interaction/action) and the congregation's understanding of the intended biblical truth.  Demographics, church involvement and theological views were examined.  Story sermons communicated most effectively at the level of contact.  Significant differences were not measurable at other levels.  The congregation understood the intended biblical truth better in traditional sermons. Acts","Expository preaching","Evangelistic work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project attempts to measure the influence of a persuasively preached series of sermons through the book of Acts on a group's attitudes towards Jesus' evangelistic cause. The project proposes that a series of twelve sermons covering all twenty-eight chapters of Acts can influence people's attitudes regarding witnessing and personal involvement in Christian evangelism. The research discloses information necessary to create the twelve persuasive sermons and the instrument measuring attitude change. A group within a church congregation participated in this project by taking a pretest and posttest version of the measuring instrument. This research sought to identify the basic components of Christian worship.  Characteristics of baby boomers were identified and a model of worship was created for them that was built upon the foundation of the early church and the first years of the Methodist Church.  A t-test and a two-way ANOVA were used to analyze the Existential and Religious Well-being subscales.
