Ushers at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan were selected to participate in a twelve-week treatment consisting of activities comprised of self-directed learning, critical reflection, and transformative learning. The Levitical priesthood and their temple ministry were used to develop the theological model. The results were a deepened spiritual commitment, an expanded understanding of the biblical and theological foundation for ushering, and an increased desire to participate in ushering as ministry. The program is based on the cognitive/behavioral tradition providing insight and skills needed to change thinking and behavior. This approach not only enables married couples to learn effective ways of developing a more stable and satisfying relationship, but also provides a structure in which the learned skills can be put into practice. 12 couples participated in this 8-week program. They completed the following 7 components: 1) attendance and participation in the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program Approach seminar; 2) reading 2 marriage enrichment books; 3) Bible-based devotional reading and prayer twice weekly; 4) a date night every other week; 5) weekly meetings; 6) a weekend retreat; and 7) attendance and participation in a 'Celebration of Commitment' ceremony. The ENRICH Marital Inventory was given as a pre- and post-test. It was used to measure the effectiveness of the program along with verbal and written reporting by the couples. The hypothesis validated by the research for all 12 couples is: Having completed the marriage enrichment program, couples will report greater marital stability and satisfaction."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131181597589504,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:43:25.204Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:08:48Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:28:00Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"fe7c8b8d-d49b-4566-a579-eb68f9acafc9","accessControl_ssim":["d722f808-e448-4f3d-8d67-42f55d840eaf"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A congregation in conflict: applying Robert Kegan's constructive-developmental personality theory"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:08:47Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:24:19Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d5fb7f34-fdb3-4607-b09c-6e16878fab13"],"hasLease_ssim":["14a2cf09-e950-4423-ac76-ca53f5aef24b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia"],"advisor_tesim":["Pamela Cooper-White"],"year_tesim":["2000"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Karen K Minnich-Sadler"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia"],"subject_tesim":["Clergy","Kegan, Robert","Laity","Conflict management"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Constructive-developmental theory addresses how people organize the experiences of life, give them meaning and form relational ties. The program was effective in that the children's images of God expanded to include both feminine and those of nature, and a God who dances."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Boston University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["2d58bd09-76d0-4970-b257-d55229e0173e"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715179968069632,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:42:23.982Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:08:21Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:59:20Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"32230beb-3bf9-4710-90ae-6fb8113ceb21","accessControl_ssim":["adaf39c6-8fa0-462e-98b3-16c0df9dbf33"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Program for helping Campus Crusade staff develop into more effective evangelists in pluralistic cultures"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:08:20Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:35:17Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fddf1b38-51db-4d66-80b4-d5e3bb08ad5c"],"hasLease_ssim":["7941ad53-15ae-4efb-bad1-6277b378d66a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["David L Larsen"],"year_tesim":["2000"],"location_tesim":["Germany"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Michael W Metzger"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Campus Crusade for Christ","Cultural pluralism","Evangelistic work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project proposes that the classical, Christian worldview of the creation, the fall, redemption, and consummation opens up broader and better possibilities for evangelistic conversations in the postmodern age. A survey of 178 Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) pastors was conducted.
