The ministerial staff and congregation participated in this project by completing a 360 degree survey of the participants.  The project director presented the results to the ministerial staff in coaching sessions. Conversely, an effectively managed pastoral persona can actually aid in the communication of a message.  This project explores the issue and offers strategies for effectively managing pastoral persona.  The project surveys scholarship on the subject of rhetoric, a study of celebrity preachers, and the results of two focus groups held to explore issues of pastoral persona with mid career pastors and with seminary students. A case study of LifeChurch.tv was the basis of the author's qualitative research design. The author discovered the importance of preaching and proximity to the broadcast campus, meaning these two factors are critical to the campus pastor's effectiveness as a spiritual leader on his local campus.
