All of the pastors studied were graduates of Piedmont Bible College, and all were veterans of more than 25 years in ministry. Clinton's five focal points are leadership perspective, learning posture, mentoring relationships, seasons of spiritual renewal, and specific discipline in ministry crises. The projects finds that these pastors perceive significant value in these focal points and practice them well. From this research the project derives a taxonomy of preaching abilities undergirded by Alverno College's approach to assessment, including a sophisticated listener-response instrument.
