The praxis director designed and taught a six-week confirmation program based on the Apostles' Creed with a three-fold purpose of confirmation for those baptized as infants, a new believers' class for those baptized as believers, and an opportunity for youth to learn about the Christian faith and make a commitment. Teaching methods included: storytelling, lectures, handouts, questionnaires, journaling, discussion, memorization, creating hand motions, play, art, music, drama, and Scripture reading. The thesis grows out of: 1. an identification of those factors which contribute to inactive membership; 2. an examination of New Testament writings as resource for ministry to inactives; 3. the development of a theological framework which utilizes Lutheran confessional theology and Pauline theology to address the issue of ministry to inactives; and 4. the consideration of ministry to inactives within the context of the whole of congregational life.
