Drawing on process and feminist theology, the author argues that nurturing the unique expression of the divine within each person leads to an empowered and engaged laity. Such a study will help them be more sensitive to gender inequalities in the text, biblical interpretation, and the power differential that is still present in the 21st century. Students will see the value of an open exploration of the text and become more adept in applying what they have learned to other instances of inequalities in the world. They will gain confidence to engage in conversation with their peers as well as experts in the field of biblical studies."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718507442601984,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:35:17.309Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:25:25Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:49:46Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"255fec8d-78f3-4756-adb1-35b63d282b74","accessControl_ssim":["b8f9a589-9f2c-45e2-aae5-630805809f4a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Women, genderqueer, our bodies and spirit: a theological construction on embodiment and sexuality."],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:25:24Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:14:00Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["de810f7f-035f-47c4-ac79-eaad5e8a2535"],"hasLease_ssim":["eec0b677-ad49-4874-84f7-2f04e7afdca0"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities"],"advisor_tesim":["Jean Morris Trumbauer"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Rebecca Mary Voelkel"],"keyword_tesim":["Feminist theology"],"publisher_tesim":["United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities"],"subject_tesim":["Queer theology","Feminism","Gender identity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Women's and genderqueer bodies, lives and voices are often ignored, manipulated and violated. This thesis seeks to address this reality. First, it listens to the witness of women and genderqueer people about their own complex bodies, identitites, and experiences, treating these as primary theological text. Second, it employs a matrix for theological reflection, engaging the positive, negative, creative, and transformative aspects of embodiment and sexuality in order to create a liberative, eschatological vision. Finally, it utilizes movement building theory to suggest how such an eschatological vision is critical to the task of transformative work and ministry in this historical moment."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715645003137024,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:49:47.474Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":2,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
