The project director used the Preaching Skills Enhancement Model to design the project. He began by researching the current trends in collaborative preaching and sermon preparation. Based on this research, he developed a process for sermon preparation that included collaborative skills. The director studied the effectiveness of this process by developing six sermons with a sermon-planning team of selected elders and lay leaders from Christview Christian Church. The preacher's interest in ethos enables the preacher to prepare the homily through the eyes and ears of the assembly. In addition, storytelling can encourage the assembly to listen to God's Word in their lives because life is easily understood in a narrative mode. Six sermons preached at Clear Wather Church in Anchorage, Alaska were prepared with the help of a feed-forward group and compared to six sermons prepared without input. Listeners assessed the transformational quality of each sermon by completing a listener survey. There was no statistically significant difference in how the listeners assessed either set of sermons. Hosea","Greidanus, Sidney","Chapell, Bryan"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The Dissertation applies the Christ-centered preaching methods of Sidney Greidanus and Bryan Chapell to four separate message units from the book of Hosea and then analyzes those methods for clarity, effectiveness, and practicality for use in preaching. Two analytical techniques are used. One is a personal analysis. The second technique provides a third-party evaluation from a eight person pastor focus group. After analyzing both methods and comparing the focus group data, the results showed that either method was effective in producing Christ centered sermons. While Greidenus had the slight edge oven chapell for clarity and effectiveness, chapell had the slight edge in practicality. The projector director researched and identified the common elements of effective conclusions in sermons and public speeches. To ensure skill enhancement, the project director solicited feedback from a selected group of members of FishHawk Fellowship Church via a sermon feedback form. The end product of this project is a manual that can be used by seminary students, by pastors wishing to enhance their preaching proficiency, and by teachers of homiletics who want to teach the skills needed to prepare relevant miracle stories sermons, especially in Chinese-Indonesian context. The second section of this thesis-project addresses the theological framework of miracle stories of the gospels. The third section addresses the literature reviews. The fourth section of the thesis-project is the manual itself, which addresses the practical concerns of how to prepare and deliver miracle stories of the gospels sermons. The manual found in section four is based on the principles of expository preaching developed by Haddon W. Robinson in his book Biblical preaching. Sermon application text-accuracy is maximixed when its development is systematically integrated with text-driven exposition of a Scripture.  The notion for the designed-in-accuracy-integrated process stems from secular business roots.  The former sermons' applications achieved significantly higher text-accuracy ratings.
