In order to gain wisdom from the Bible, one needs to fully comprehend the meanings of the Word. using the type of analysis that rearranges syntactical Greek and examines the Chinese and English language structures helps achieve this goal. This type of analysis yields syntactical display, which shows not only the threads of thought in the Scriptures, but also the outline of expository preaching. A long-term sermon plan was developed and implemented using the book of Revelation to impact the believers at Tulsa Bible Church toward spiritual development. An instrument was developed and used to pretest and posttest in order to measure the effectiveness of the program. Areas of measurable spiritual development were developed, incorporated didactically into the series and emphasized throughout the planned sermons. The analysis of the posttest shows a measurable change in some areas of spiritual development. In order to do this, the project director researched sermons and created a sermon model. The project directory created eight part model sermons to his congregation during Sunday worship. A group of experts assessed the model sermons and their assessments were used to determine the sermons’ effect and reach. From the research and assessments the project director was able to find the key factors of sermon skills and made a plan to improve sermon skills. He also looked at the before and after of the congregation’s spiritual awareness to find changes and made that the focus of his results. The project is based on the ministry skill enhancement model. The project director researched the fields of expository preaching and biblical genre, focusing on six of the major genres of Scripture: narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, parable, epistles, and Revelation. Annotated bibliographies and reports on expository preaching and biblical genre were reviewed by Dr. Lewis Richerson and Dr. Steven Smith, experts in the fields of expository preaching and biblical genre. From the reports, rubrics were created to evaluate the sermon development process. The project director developed sermon structures, outlines, and manuscripts utilizing the knowledge gained from the research to structure the sermon according to the structure and genre of the text. The project director delivered six sermons to the congregation of Galilee First Baptist Church. Dr. Richerson and Dr. Smith evaluated the sermon structures, outlines, and sermon videos.
