Socio-cultural misunderstanding hampers relational harmony and ministry effectiveness in affected churches. In response to this problem, the researcher surveyed rurban leaders in three geographic regions of the United States, identified the major recurrent components of the rurban collision, and made recommendations to church leaders concerning how to effectively lead in the presence of rurban socio-cultural tension. The author used a phenomenological approach answering these two questions. Firstly: how do Filipino missionaries describe the effects of their training in terms of their cultural adjustments, spiritual lives, work with teams, and the outcomes of their missionary activities? Secondly: how do they describe their need of further personal and professional training? The author has examined two large Chinese churches in the greater Vancouver area with a set of questionnaires that is designed for the comparative analysis of distinct cultural conflict patterns.  The project finds that there are certain common cultural traits and core values that are root causes of the ministry conflict. On the basis of questionnaires and interviews, the project identifies language differences as the primary sources of conflict within families, yet greater conflicts stem from the clash of different models of social interaction--authoritarian and Korean, egalitarian and American. These styles of parenting generate the same conflicts in the church as in the home. Minjung theology and other influences have drawn many Koreans to the church.  As many as one fourth of the Korean population may now be considered to be Christian.  Yet difficult questions remain. Why, for example, does Korea have so many social problems, even among church members, when the growth and influence of the Christian faith is expanding so rapidly?  Why does a sense of 'Han' persist even among Korean Christians? Quantitative growth has often been emphasized at the expense of qualitative progress and pastoral care. Within this framework it proposes an original set of guidelines for persons engaging in dialogue. The problems of cultural collision, however, were not anticipated.  The impact of this collision produced broken relations within the fellowship of the church. This study sought to discover the extent of the undesirable situation and to propose viable solutions to counteract this brokenness in the fellowship of the church.  The study used the library research and survey and interview
