The goal was to demonstrate and encourage a thorough integration so that organizational wisdom might be informed, anchored and enriched by scriptural teaching. This goal was achieved through program development. The core biblical theme of hospitality was traced through Scripture, and juxtaposed with the four-lens approach of Bolman and Deal's Reframing organizations. This project is a resource for leadership empowerment, especially for pastors in charge of local church. The project highlights the functions and connectional relationships within the church. Organizational structure means the formal and informal framework of policies within which an organization arranges its lines of authority and communication. The literature review examined the differences in the positions of church administrator and executive pastor and the changes in leadership style of those who moved from one position to another position higher on the organizational chart. Two case studies of individuals who were church administrators and became executive pastors were used as the research method. But is it possible that some evangelical churches with biblical doctrine have similar characteristics as full blown cults? What are those characteristics and how strongly do they make their presence known? This project seeks to examine if churches that have evangelical doctrine can be similar to cults despite their underpinnings of biblical truth. Results from thirteen unhealthy churches represented by thirty former members are examined through the use of a descriptive survey. The intent of this project is to develop a framework that creates a community, whereby the heart and subsequent actions of the leader create a culture in which covenant is likely to develop.  The author's hypothesis is that key leader behaviors model a culture of covenant.  These behaviors were defined and prepared as a survey pre-test amongst Coastlands Executive Team members.
