However, it is unclear how and where they are being equipped. The purpose of this study was to explore how career worship directors became equipped for long-term vocational worship ministry in the Reformed church. The study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with ten worship directors, analyzed in a constant comparative method. The research explored experiences from childhood through the early years of church work that developed their musicality, spiritual formation, leadership skills, and Reformed theology of worship. This research project explores possible reasons behind this discontinuity as well as potential avenues of greater sacramental awareness consistent with Reformed theology. A general overview of the history of sacramental liturgical theology is followed by an invitation to return to early ecclesial liturgical practices. This project describes a process for developing a written staff covenant with a large church staff based on the order and theological bases of Reformed (Christian) worship.  The project examines the Trinitarian image of God as a theological model for good human (staff) relationships; relates Trinitarian theology to modern models of organizational management; and highlights the order of Lord's Day worship as a theological superstructure for meaningful church staff community.  A process that develops a written staff covenant emerges from the initial theological study.
