Significant gaps exist between, on the one hand, the emphasis placed on developing leadership qualities and skills during Capuchin friars’ formation and, on the other, the degree to which such skills are called for in educational administrative ministries. In support of these claims, I apply Richard Osmer’s method of descriptive-empirical analysis – examining experience, tradition, and pastoral response – to a case study involving the experience of Capuchin principals in Ethiopia. Based on a close examination of their experiences, I recommend the institutionalization of programmatic educational leadership training modules for friar school principals. I also call for changes in the friars’ initial and ongoing formation programs to increase the quality of educational leadership and managerial skills in order to raise their leadership qualities and make them more capable of executing their responsibilities. Within our current social climate, it is interesting to consider the effects that digital technology has had on a traditional religion like Catholicism. Indeed, scholars and religious followers collectively acknowledge that digital technology provides great opportunities for the institution and its followers while simultaneously realizing the challenges of being present online. It is argued that today digital communication technologies are not just tools for communication, but a comprehensive, thought-shaping, and culture-making reality of our time. Therefore, this study explores the development of a praxis of digital faith formation for young adults. In this perspective, it examines first, the specific forms of digital religious expressions take in general and in Roman Catholic ministerial praxes in particular, especially in an Indian context. Second, how can Indian Roman Catholic ministers, and the faithful whom they serve, be evangelically and technologically informed, engaged, and responsible users of rapidly evolving digital media? Third, how can ecclesial leaders be effectively persuaded of the importance of being open to new ideas about the use of digital media for the formation of youth as well as a myriad of other possible ministerial applications? While exploring these questions in an Indian context, this thesis analyzes a set of specific phenomena related to both the existent and potential interplay of ministry and digital technology. This thesis takes a modest but important step toward developing digital faith formation for young adults. As the universal Church enters its third millennium of existence, magisterial leaders are calling upon communities of faith to discern the mission of Catholic institutions and their role in serving God’s Church and the world. If Catholic schools are to be successful in their mission, it is critical that clerical and lay school leaders align on what is meant by the term “Catholic identity” as well as identify shared characteristics of Catholic identity in faith-based school communities. With this in mind, several questions are raised: What, exactly, defines the identity and work of a “Catholic” school in contemporary times? Can interpretation of “Catholic identity” differ from one school to another? Who has the authority to set benchmarks for Catholic school identity? In what ways can Catholic identity be quantitatively measured to advance school improvement and deepen alignment to the mission of the Church? To what extent can we really know if our efforts to share the Gospel through Catholic education are successfully contributing to the mission of the modern Church? An historical methodology was used for understanding The Gospel Association of India churches perspectives on discipleship. Focus groups and personal interview methodology were used to understand the perspectives on Christian discipleship among Christians in The Gospel Association of India.I explored the many themes that provided the basis of discipleship in the Old and New Testaments. God’s people in the Old Testament underwent discipleship with God as their teacher and Israel as the disciple through God’s covenant, God’s election, and encountering God collectively and individually. The New Testament provides an abundant basis for discipleship. We can become true disciples by following Jesus, being obedient to his teaching. With the aid of the Holy Spirit, we can be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ, which is the goal of discipleship.As the original disciples impacted their world by following their master, Christians in The Gospel Association of India can impact their world by living as true disciples of Jesus Christ. The future of our churches and society will be decided on how we care and raise them up as responsible, God-fearing individuals in the present time. Our world is getting smaller with the passing of time. It has become a global village where every crazy thing going on around can be felt in an instant with the media culture getting hold of every nook and corner of many young minds. Immorality has become an accepted norm; sexual assaults have become an uncommon part of daily news, broken homes in every corner of the streets, divorce due to infidelity of spouses, the list goes on. These are not new phenomena anymore, and the church has become a silent witness to many of these abominations.Sadly, many of these problems are related to misunderstanding, misinterpretation, and mismanagement of human sexuality. Nepalese society has her share of issues related to all these happenings as well. Therefore, with a concern to heal as well as protect the young people who will be our future from becoming degraded human beings, and the zeal to raise them to be Christ-like disciples, following His ways in living holy and acceptable lives before God and man, I devoted my time and energy to explore and research as to how to benefit them. Christianity surged in the area unprecedentedly, following various miracles and healings. As persecution increased, the church grew, and the reason was the relentless prayer and faithfulness of the children of God. This is an encouraging example to all the suffering Christians in India and throughout the globe. In the face of severe persecution and other internal and external challenges facing the church in Arunachal Pradesh, it is absolutely vital that pastors, leaders and believers in churches be strengthened and rooted in the Word of God, effectively to bring growth in order to have biblically sound congregations. The series of Inductive Bible Study will empower Christians to withstand these challenges with the power of the Holy Spirit.A workshop “How to Study the Bible Effectively” was conducted in the Pasighat of East Siang District, A.P. The study facilitated learning tools to interpret the Bible inductively, to explore means to conduct an in-depth study especially in mission fields where literary resources are not readily available. The purpose of this study was to develop and sharpen the theological understanding for enrichment in biblical studies and to provide opportunity for ministry enhancement to pastors, evangelists and lay leaders in the SAF Mt Carmel Prayer Center, Pasighat, East Siang district. The exploration includes a contextual analysis, literature review, biblical reflection, and the author’s personal reflection on lived experiences that led to a servant-leader philosophy of Christian leadership. The analysis informed the design and implementation of a field research project: Training Ministry Leaders Towards Supportive Psychotherapy Referrals to Tyndale Wellness Centre. The project addressed an identified need to help Christian ministry leaders learn how to support their members with mental health problems and refer them for psychotherapy. A training program was developed and piloted with nine ministry leaders and the outcomes analyzed. Findings indicated an overall increase in participants’ understanding of mental health, the importance of self-care, the nature of spiritually integrated psychotherapy and how to make supportive referrals. A recurrent theme in the research analysis was participants’ concern about clergy mental health as much as that of their members. Exodus"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This Doctor of Ministry Project researched six pastors in Western North Carolina to see how they balance administrative duties and evangelistic efforts to produce a healthy church. The project began from my experience of pastoring three churches in the area and experiencing the struggles firsthand. It then looked into the Scriptures to understand the historical accounts and theology of administration and evangelism to comprehend the responsibilities of pastors. Further research was conducted from literature to evaluate what others say about the subject and if they have discovered this problem.  The data was collected through qualitative research of interviews with six pastors. The interviews were conducted with ten questions to discover how they balance administrative duties and evangelistic efforts as a pastor. The interviews were analyzed and synthesized from their experiences, theology, and literary viewpoints for the conclusions.The research results showed a problem among pastors who have administrative demands on them because of the expectation of the congregation or the lack of others willing to take responsibility. The research also showed that evangelism efforts fail to reach the community because of the heavy administrative load of the pastor. The final results show, pastors that do have a balance, revamped or updated how administration is done, to simplify it for both him and the congregation. The process of updating the administration did require time for trust to build between the pastor and the congregation.
