The project developed the African interdependent model, a multi-dimensional approach in which pastoral diagnosis and treatment is measured on a continuum of core relational dynamics.  The revisionist correlational model was used to correlate the thoughts of Althea J Horner and John S Mbiti. An African corporate personality is compared and contrasted with the desiderata of organization and self.  The project concluded that psychoanalytic object relations theory and African corporate personality theory can be complementary. This is a library study. Traditional African religion and culture, the independent African churches, African Christian theology, and the principles of liturgical theology are employed in order to examine what is involved in Africanizing worship. The study concludes that true Africanization must integrate concerns for cultural indigenization and political liberation, and that Africanized worship must reflect this integration. The author's thesis is that mishandling of the component parts of TEE leads to weakness and breakdown, whereas caring administrators lead successful programs.  Using 78 TEE programs from 22 countries in Africa as sources, the author describes how the extension model is working.  He compares and analyzes the programs according to aims, administration, component parts, problems, innovations, the program's own self-evaluation and external relations with the church.  As to methodology, the author employs the results of two questionnaires, personal interviews with administrators, tutors and students, and five case studies. Results indicate that 64 per cent of TEE administrators felt that the future prospects of extension are bright. Statistical data indicates that a modest but statistically significant correlation exists between tutor training and effective class interaction. Two ministry emphases were utilized.  A seven-sermon series was preached October-November of 1989.  An urban evangelism workshop was conducted in December 1989, and again in February 1990.  All ministry activities were evaluated through participant questionnaires. However, Africa has encountered industrialization, rapid urbanization, and migration into the cities.  The mass migration has resulted in poverty, unemployment, housing shortages, hunger and homelessness, prostitution, and delinquent children. Failure to use local languages, culture, and worldview has produced nominal and syncretistic Christians.  This project will help churches to effectively change their way of reaching these people.  The method of research was based on James and Evelyn Whitehead's tripolar theological method of doing evangelism.
