This strategy seeks to facilitate the planting of responsible and reproducing churches that can thrive under local leadership using local resources for generations to come. There are four hypotheses that guide this study: Balance in evangelism and discipleship in unreached communities must be maintained. Local leaders must be preserved for local churches without depending on external support. Cross-cultural missionaries must prepare local leaders to do the majority of the public teaching in the churches that are planted. Cross-cultural missionaries must train local leaders to be responsible for the leadership of the churches that are planted. These hypotheses were evaluated in the bibliographic and biblical research. The SEARA mission was researched to determine if these hypotheses are currently evident in the mission’s methodologies. The results of this research are presented followed by a proposed strategy to be implemented in the future."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130840640520192,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:38:00.042Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:27:01Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:25:07Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"259df07c-d708-4d4b-8383-d304069d76ea","accessControl_ssim":["9e55b510-e247-4bfa-a2a2-8d152105d661"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Development and Evaluation of a Program Related to the Liturgy of the Assembly Of God in Vila Velha, Brazil"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:27:00Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:14:16Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["424ea8b1-1acd-4dfe-98bd-e1d3eb053d11"],"hasLease_ssim":["9977a05a-19bc-48f0-8180-eec9b321769f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Timothy J. It is a fact that every church has a liturgy, and each worship service is liturgical, some more formal and others informal. Throughout a twenty-year pastorate in the same church, the researcher has noticed weaknesses with respect to the liturgy, and aspects of worship service (Commitment, reverence and participation). The first objective of this research was to evaluate the level of understanding that believers in the Assembly of God Brazil have about liturgy and corporate worship. Another objective of the research was to develop a program related to improvement of various aspects of liturgy and corporate worship. The literature review provided the necessary information for a better understanding of the meaning of liturgy and the value of corporate worship. This information provided the basis of the questionnaire and guided the researcher on the topic of studies during the seminar. The researcher theorized a qualitative concept for each of the four hypotheses: a) Hypothesis-1: excellent; b) Hypothesis-2: good; c) Hypothesis-3: good; d) Hypothesis-4: excellent. After conducting the evaluations and the seminar, the researcher identified the following final grades and concepts of qualities for the four hypotheses:a) Hypotheses-1: Excellent – Final grade (4,5)b) Hypothesis-2: Regular – Final grade (3,7)c) Hypothesis-3: Good – Final grade (4,1)d) Hypothesis-4: Excellent – Final grade (4,64)Hypotheses 1, 3 and 4 had the result expected by the researcher. The hypotheses 1 and 4 had an excellent result and hypothesis 2 a good result. Although the hypotheses 2 did not obtain expected results, there was development. The statements that have assessed this hypothesis 2, suggested changes in the liturgy of the local church, this is a sensitive and controversial subject. The suggestion is for new evaluations and another seminar to promote changes on this hypothesis."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130034754289664,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:25:11.488Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:33:47Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:58:45Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d5e6c310-9847-49a3-a193-0840b5792964","accessControl_ssim":["c7d1c05f-0039-4d85-8673-da371662f09c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Understanding And Contextualizing The Marks Of Health And Its Obstacles In Selected Brazilian Evangelical Churches Based On The Transformational Church Criteria"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:33:46Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:14:52Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1be0d427-5d8b-470f-b87e-43b0841e59c2"],"hasLease_ssim":["e566fe8f-a90b-41fc-90ae-be629181e1ea"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"discipline_tesim":["Leadership","Ministry Management"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Craig Ott Ph.D.","Ed Stetzer Ph.D.","William Donahue Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2017"],"location_tesim":["Brazil"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The report began with a theological and missiological foundation about church health and missionality, composed by a storyline of the most important reflections on church growth and mission over the last fifty years, from the Church Growth Movement until the Missional Church Conversation, with emphasis on the Transformational Church. Following that, in order to understand and contextualize the Transformational Church marks of health into the Brazilian church, the cultures of Brazil and the US were compared in search of how the cultural constructs of power distance, individualism/collectivism, uncertainty avoidance and others can work either as obstacles or facilitators of health and missionality in Brazil. The last part of the project was in-depth interviews with senior pastors of forty-five churches from different denominations and regions of Brazil about leadership practices, evangelism, worship, prayer, local and global missions, small groups, involvement with the city, assimilation of new believers, as well as about the hindrances those churches face in order to be healthy and missional. The main conclusions of the research were that the Transformational Churches in Brazil show similar marks of the American ones: they discern the context with a missionary mentality, embrace the values of vibrant leadership, relational intentionality and prayerful dependence, and engage the right actions of worship, community and mission. However, the Brazilian Transformational Churches have to face major obstacles to be healthy and missional, especially the teachings of the Prosperity Theology, financial problems, and the lack of commitment of their members to the mission of God."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719984312614912,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:58:45.762Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:24:47Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:50:54Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"910ecac3-09ee-40d1-991f-2ca9c5208bb4","accessControl_ssim":["83663b22-3467-4be9-9c11-15fd90d1920d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Multiplying churches among German immigrant communities in Southern Brazil"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:24:47Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:22:51Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["9ac1560a-0d55-4839-bf01-0dc9369a954a"],"hasLease_ssim":["07a48950-da77-4e21-aeab-254bdac5dd8d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Peter Kuzmic"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"location_tesim":["Brazil"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Philip Edmund Stucky"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Germans","Demography","Church development, New"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this thesis project is to lay a theological, cultural , and historical framework for multiplying churches among German immigrant communities in urban South Brazil. The project director researched demographics, interviewed national pastors and international missionaries, studied cultural nuances, and accumulated other data in order to understand the cultural and religious context in which a new church would be planted. From this collected data, the project director developed a strategy that involved the usage of a team approach to planting a new church. The International Mission Board regional leadership for Brazil decided to delay any action on the strategy developed for this project because of logistical problems related to the fact that the region was in the midst of a major transition. The Eastern and Western South America Regions were joined to form the South American Region. Specifically, this is a study of a religious congregation called the Congregation of Marians, with an emphasis on its missionary endeavor in three different countries. The Marians began as a religious organization in Poland, but over the years started an outreach into countries around the world. This paper reports the research accomplished by this Marian missionary endeavor, limiting itself to the Marian establishments in the US, Great Britain and Brazil. The research shows that the Marians are very successful in their Brazilian missions. In Great Britain the Marians are less successful. This paper presents reasons for the very different end results in both countries. In Great Britain the Marians reached out to Polish immigrants, and were successful initially in this ministry. But, since the Marians did not expand their ministries to the larger population, they faced a decreasing ministerial need. In Brazil, the Marians reached out to the larger population and thrived. The ultimate goal of this paper was to view Marian cross-cultural outreach. The Marian effort in the US is viewed in comparison to the two countries just mentioned. The core research included questionnaires and focus groups in all three countries. Chapters on the history of the Roman Catholic Church and that of the Marian effort in each country is presented, as well as a theological reflection on mission."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127090744000512,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:38:23.862Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":18,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"Dissertation","hits":2,"label":"Dissertation"},{"value":"D.Min.
