Having addressed the issue of ‘healing the people and healing the land’, the author goes on to tentatively outline a vision for the development of a High Street Monastery - a place of prayer, worship and radical community engagement - within the ancient Church of Ireland parish of St. Patrick’s, Coleraine.[Note about entry: Abstract submitted to the Atla RIM database on behalf of the author. The study looked at how the planter and plant were affected by the leader's vocational status. The literature review is comprised of relevant church planting literature, literature concerning work and the interplay of vocation, and the history of the Irish Presbyterian Church. For the purpose of qualitative research, ten planters and five others participated in informal semi-structured interviews. Through qualitative research methods, six successful churches were analyzed. The project reviewed worldview, contextualization and biblical elements relating to making Irish disciples. The literature search conducted followed the development of Celtic spirituality along with two counter themes or antithetical elements, Christianity and the English in Ireland. Fifty-two questionnaires and three interviews of Irish were evaluated with the literature research to formulate and understanding of present day Celtic spirituality in western central Ireland. This project is an interpretive case-study that examines that experience, and explores how the leadership of this pilgrimage facilitated spiritual growth. The 'lived metaphor' of pilgrimage gives people courage to live through the liminal ambiguity of transitions in their own lives. In the early years Methodist over-identification with emerging Ulster Unionism is observed, as is Methodist silence during the first forty-five years of the Northern Ireland state.  The more prophetic voice is noted from 1969-1985.
