A change in understanding of lay ministry is necessary to overcome the inactivity or passivity of the laypersons.  This requires a change from a consciousness based on the Confucian tradition to the Christian idea based on the Bible and Christian tradition. This project suggests a better understanding of ministry and church office, educational programs, and important implications that are necessary for the Korean Church to activate lay ministry. The right interpretation of ancestral worship became a hot issue in the history of the Korean Church.  This project cultivated a practical theory of ancestral worship according to the biblical, theological, and liturgical perspectives of Christianity.  The project searched and analyzed the problem of ancestral worship through a questionnaire which was addressed to the ministers in rural, urban, and metropolitan areas.
