Using the ministry research model, I researched church dynamics in Mississippi to identify regional church profiles. In this research, I included data from Annual Church Profiles from Southern Baptist churches in Mississippi, along with data from recent census reports, to identify population and demographic trends across the state. The synthesis of this data identified five regional church profiles in various parts of the state. Secondly, I researched contemporary church revitalization models and current state convention strategies to identify best practices. Lastly, I developed a strategy planning guide for the Mississippi Baptist Convention. The project director will conduct an internal audit of the church's demographics and key functions to determine the revitalization priorities of the church. The project director will research the field of church revitalization to determine the best practices in church revitalization. Next, the project director will select and train a diverse group of church members to serve on the strategy development team (Dream Team). The Dream Team, along with the project director, will design a church revitalization strategy for Morgan Chapel utilizing the best practices in church revitalization. Finally, the project director will present the completed strategy to the deacon body for evaluation and then the church for ultimate approval at a scheduled business meeting. The third project goal was to equip selected church leaders with revival preparation practices to facilitate revival.The first professional goal of this project was to increase the project directors knowledge of revival history and practices. The project director's second professional goal was to increase his skill in curriculum design.
