A biblical model for revival based on 2 Chronicles 7:14 is presented, along with compelling historical illustrations, and a tour of sites associated with revival and awakening in the Housatonic Valley region.  Together they demonstrate that when pastors and churches set themselves to preparing their hearts for renewing, God sends it. The context of this project is a Presbyterian congregation in Chicago which includes African immigrants, African Americans, Euro-Americans, persons with chronic mental illness and those whose quirkiness has avoided medical detection. The author explores how people who are displaced from their cultures and/or families of origin experience the church as 'home'. Prime's The power of prayer and Talbot Chambers's The noon prayer meeting of the North Dutch Church, Fulton Street, New York, this study seeks to expand the narrative to include the historical material of the time.  This project includes an examination of literature seeking relevant opinions and insights into the Fulton Street prayer meetings.  The foundational historical framework for the revival is presented in two elements.  First, an examination is made of the historical context of the revival, including changes in the United States from 1812 to the Civil War, focusing on the economic, geographic, political, journalistic, and social elements. State College, the setting, where this project took place, was introduced in the first chapter of this project. I examined the biblical basis for discipleship training. The writer looked at the historical background of discipleship training and followed the works of various campus ministry groups in Korea. This ministry project analyzed the discipleship-training materials that are currently in use by churches in Korea and Korean churches in the States. With this analysis, results from the pre-survey, and the help of the Curriculum Advisory Committee, the writer created new curriculum and ran it through with the congregation via post survey. In summary, it has been determined that the curriculums created by the campus ministry groups and used by Korean churches in the States cannot be used effectively. A proposed series of strategies was designed to raise our level of Spirituality using the following:  Goal 1: Communicate prayer needs weekly until December 31, 2006.  Goal 2: Provide at least three additional corporate spiritual growth opportunities.     Goal 3: Provide at least three additional individual spiritual growth opportunities.
