Major literature on theological education and field education was reviewed and questions were raised regarding the seminary's mission statement, goals, and curriculum. The multi-faceted approach included: the design and use of a semantic differential test (before and after) to determine the shifts in attitude; the cognitive goals of sermons, books, and discussions; the first-hand exposure to WCCC and a successful Maryland application; and the official vote of the congregation to shift to this model of ministry.  MCC was not sufficiently dissatisfied with the status quo to motivate them to make the large-scale changes necessary to adapt this model. A task force of seventy individuals was enlisted by the pastor and given responsibilities; the task force then incorporated an additional hundred and twenty individuals.  Over a period of twelve weeks these people labored to prepare the church and the community for an outdoor crusade. The author explores the viability of a theology and strategy of friendship evangelism.  It is a caring way to share our faith. An evangelistic program entitled the ISAAC plan (Inviting Senior Adults to Accept Christ) was established.
