S."],"subject_tesim":["Burn out (Psychology)","Chaplains"],"abstract_tesim":["This doctoral project was designed to further equip a regional team of corporate chaplains residing within the Southeastern United States. Initially, the need was identified for the chaplains to receive training concerning greater spiritual formation competencies. An equipping program model was employed to address this need. Preparation for this project included extensive research of ministry burnout, the field of spiritual formation, and the classic spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith. Significant survey work was carried out with the team to understand more about their spiritual health and personal devotional practices. Three virtual teaching sessions were eventually prepared and presented to the team. The first session introduced the chaplains to the problem and scope of ministry burnout. The objective is to evaluate the thesis that seasonal residents will increase involvement in the life of the congregation as meaningful relationships are established, and as they are made to feel a part of the congregation.  To test the thesis a model of ministry is developed, tested, and evaluated.  The results indicate the validity of the thesis.
