The method of investigation included a theological study of the process and the obtaining of data from pastors and church committees through questionnaires and interviews.  The result of the study indicate that plannaging is suitable for use in a church, is helpful for administration, and that pastors lack confidence in the use of plannaging following training. Following the development of a church-specific version of plannaging manuals, selected clergy were trained as trainers who in turn trained one hundred fifty pastors throughout New England in the use of plannaging.  This training enabled these pastors to use plannaging in their personal and professional life.
