The paper, after tracing the development of the 'quest' from its inception during the scientific revolution to our own day, and examining claims for its significance (or lack thereof) for the Christian faith, recommends that the pastor apply the historical information in a highly-calibrated fashion. The researcher asserts that GenXers relate to organized religion much differrently than previous generations shaped by modernity.  The project began with an extensive review of literature.  A 31 item questionnaire was administered to 32 students in the College of Education.  Student responses were either slightly above or below the median response for each question.  No statistically significant correlation was found to suggest the proposed hypothesis.
