In-depth interviews were conducted with 25 members of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) located in Crookston, Minnesota. The two topics of hearing the voice of God in community and consensus-based decision-making were explored. An action plan for the future ministry of the church was developed. The researcher designed a virtual community, 'Sawubona.' The participants discussed their interactions with the church. This dialogue identified perceived and real exclusions and discovered practical strategies that both the disabled and local churches can use to improve participation. Participants were interviewed before and after the project to gain insight into their experiences with participating in churches.
